Fall outfit: Purple Rose Pants + Ranunculus
I’m enjoying these new purple Rose pants this fall — made with a textured cotton fabric I bought at Stone Stone Mountain and Daughter — along with my purple Ranunculus sweater, first blogged here.
The fabric is mid-weight but a bit heavier than quilting cottons which makes it nice for cool weather. I cut the length slightly longer than the cropped length in the pattern, intending wear these with boots as it gets colder. And as they’re not quite full length, they won’t drag on the ground and get wet which can happen in winter and fall with snow and rain.
At first I made them with a single pleat on each side (above), then changed my mind and decided to gather the front instead. I love that it’s so easy to change your mind, even after they’re completely sewn. You just have to pull out the final front waistband stitches, adjust the pleats or gathers, and resew. Everything else can remain intact (including the back waistband).
And guess what? I’m teaching a Rose workshop in November at my studio here in Ann Arbor - November 14 and 15th - if you’d like to join us, there are still spots open!! More info here.
Rose is available in sizes xxs - xl & plus sizes 1-5, designed to fit max hip 59” and comes in both print and digital formats. We also have pattern sheet printouts available for only $8! Find them all in my shop!
