Luna Love: Tester Pics + Your Makes!

Luna tester roundup

Thank you for all of the enthusiasm you've shown for the Luna re-launch! It feels great to update a pattern, and it's especially gratifying to finally get it out into the world so that you can sew up your own versions. I am especially happy that the added sizes will make the Luna pattern a resource for so many more of you who love to sew!

One of the best parts of testing a pattern is seeing the awesome versions coming in from our testers, so now that Luna has relaunched I wanted to share some of the tester photos with you along with a bunch of my favorite versions from those of you who have made and posted your Luna pants online. I know many of you appreciate seeing a pattern on someone other than me (I am almost always the person wearing the sample in all of my shop photos, though Melissa and Cassie - my former studio assistants - stepped in occasionally) and I think it's always helpful to see how a pattern looks in a variety of sizes, not to mention styled and worn in various ways.

Kristine luna pants

One of our Luna testers, @KristineSews, took her already-fabulous pair of rayon Luna pants (above) and narrowed the fit through the leg after we made some adjustments for Round 2 of testing (below).

These two pairs of Lunas from Leilani @studiogypsy (one overdyed, one with upcycled striped cotton) are both absolutely divine, styled in multiple ways.

Another one of our testers, Jessica @kunklebaby chose this fun rayon print for her Lunas and I love how they match her cute red sandals!

Here’s what she said about these in her Instagram post yesterday:

“This pattern is the best throw on and go with a tee, to take my children to school! I imagine they’d be the comfiest thing ever for thanksgiving overindulgences too.”

“…I used to say I wasn’t a “pants person,” but that’s actually changed a lot since I started sewing my own. I can tweak the fit until it’s just right and it’s really been a great additional wardrobe option for me to add to the mix.”

I love this mom-in-action pic from my friend Maria @mariasewist in her Lunas, complete with matching mini-fireman (what a cutie)!

Knitter, sewist, and librarian Suzen @knitlib has been rocking her Lunas all over town:

Another one of our testers, Jenny @thewardrobearchitect, made two beautiful pairs, including this gorgeous blue one:

How much do I love this belted Luna from @cawwiemadeit? She added a belt and loops and widened the cuffs a bit and it’s totally great.

I’ve also seen a number of Luna versions that feature a rolled-up cuff rather than the elastic cuff, like this one from my friend Cherie @youandmie:

Two lovely versions of Luna — complete with houseplants — from Noa Aga @tatalasolstudio and Ana @cocawacrafts:

A chambray button down goes with everything. Check out this great way to style floral Lunas from @meganjrodriguez:

Here’s a second pair from tester Jessica @kunklebaby in a beautiful green Brussels Washer linen blend. Dreamy, right??

Finally, here’s a photo from Kirsten @arrowandtheheart that perfectly captures what I hope to be doing this holiday weekend: lounging in my Lunas with a knitting project.
