Where do you get your patterns printed?
Where do you get your copyshop files printed? Did you know that all of my grownup patterns and some of my kiddo patterns come with wide-format copyshop files for the pattern pieces, many of them also now with layers? You can send these files to a print shop to have them printed for you, so you have all of the pattern pieces on one or two (or three, depending on the pattern) big sheets, without you having to print and tape anything together at home.
One thing I love about PDF patterns is being able to unroll the copyshop file and trace my pattern!
Last week I posted this question on Instagram, because a few of my favorite spots recently closed, and I got lots great recommendations in the responses. I’m reposting it here on the blog (with a bunch of the reader recs added) so that you can use this post as a handy reference, too.
Here’s a few places I recommend:
Bolt Fabrics, Portland (get fabric too!)
Brooklyn Motif (full color…lovely)
Ewe Fibers, Charleston (get fabric too!)
Stitch Sew Shop, Alexandria (get fabric too!)
Pattern Review (also sells some of my digital women’s patterns)
Fabric Spark (Canada! Great source for patterns and fabric too!)
Patternsy (UK-based! Full color!)
PDF Plotting (also a reader fave, good for printing multiple patterns)
Here’s a few spots recommended/mentioned by readers:
Blue Cup Shop - this was hands down the fan-favorite on Instagram. Laquana’s shop is highly recommended and I can’t wait to give it a try.
The Plotted Pattern - another fan fave, tissue-style paper; will also print the instruction booklet for you
Sew YYC - a Canada rec!
Blackbird Fabrics - another Canada rec - also get your fabric!
Plan Make Do - Australia rec!
And, here are a few I would NOT recommend:
🚫 FedEx/Kinkos
🚫 Staples
