Winter Emerald Outfits
Emerald is a dress that easily lends itself to summer (it’s perfect with sandals and a sunhat), but when I was designing Emerald, I intentionally designed the built-in cap sleeve because I wanted to be able to layer it under sweaters. I was happy when Emerald debuted in Making magazine and the creators included Emerald in a photo shoot shown underneath a chunky cabled sweater, which is exactly how I had envisioned it.
As you know, I’ve been knitting a lot of sweaters for myself over the past few years. I intentionally made them cropped lengths so that they would work well with not only my high-waisted patterns (Cleo, Rose), but also my dress designs like Emerald and Trillium.
Here are they are worn with Emerald (plus a bonus outfit with my favorite jean jacket) to create four cosy winter outfits:
with my Nurtured Sweater and minty cable socks
with my Catbells sweater
with my Weekender Sweater and Imposter shawl (omg can’t believe I never posted either of those projects…I wear them all the time!)
with my Mender’s Cardigan
And with my favorite jean jacket.
Finally, I also made a matching mask with some leftover scraps. And Emerald matches my puffer coat! I’m clearly into this evergreen hue.
