3 Merino Jade Tees
Last winter I bought some merino jersey from The Fabric Store and made myself three Jade tees. The idea was to layer them with the sweaters I’ve made to create the ultimate cosy winter wardrobe. I made some small variations to each so that I wouldn’t end up with three identical tees, but I cut them out at the same time — assembly-line-style — which was v. satisfying.
Some notes on each version, should you have the desire to make one of your own:
Fabric: @wearethefabricstore merino jersey color vanilla
Mods: combined view B (scoop) and View A (boat) used front necklines of both views so that it’s reversible
Notes: Of the three, this most closely follows the pattern. I haven’t been wearing this one on its own because it’s fairly sheer, but it’s perfect for layering under sweaters.

Mods: extended view A neckline inward and added double folded rectangle for turtleneck
How to make a Jade turtleneck: extend the bodice shoulder lines inward to create a 6” wide neckline and redraw the neck curves using the boat neckline as the lowest point. Sew the ends of a 20x12” rectangle together and fold in half to create a double layer before attaching to the neckline.

Thoughts: It turned out to be about the same color as my copper raw silk Rose pants, which is pretty cool. I love this color.
Fabric: @wearethefabricstore merino jersey color tamarillo microstripe
Mods: started with View A (boat), folded curved hem of pattern piece under to create a flat hem.
Notes: this color feels the most “Rae” to me, so I’ll be less likely to hide it as a layer underneath something else. Love the mini stripe, which is hard to see in these photos, but gives the fabric more of a marled look.
